Call for tenders: Process evaluation of the FDPG

  • Reading time:3 mins read
Application deadline: Friday, March 28, 2025

The Research Data Portal for Health (FDPG) was developed as part of the Medical Informatics Initiative (MII). It enables researchers to apply for health data from routine care for medical research projects and to carry out a case number estimation in advance. The portal is operated by the TMF e.V./MII Coordination Office. In cooperation with the Network of University Medicine (NUM), the MII is now inviting applications for data use projects, which are submitted via the FDPG and go through and evaluate the processes of the FDPG and the Data Integration Centers (DIZ).

Ten successful applications will each receive 30,000 euros to go through and evaluate the processes of the FDPG and DIZ using real data utilization projects. Researchers, medical specialists, PHD and Master’s students who are planning medical research on routine data can apply now until Friday, March 28, 2025.

The selection criterion is that the data utilization project includes innovative, promising, public welfare-oriented research questions with an applied patient reference and uses available data sources (core data set modules) from several hospital sites connected via the FDPG. Data requests involving cross-site use of biospecimens are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applications must be submitted directly via the FDPG application portal.

For a submitted project to have a chance of a successful selection process, the following requirements should be met:

  • Data usage application (FDPG application portal)
  • Feasibility query and data definition via the FDPG data portal (the FDPG can provide assistance if required) attached to the data use application
  • Presentation of the available capacities and expertise of the scientists involved (e.g. data science, epidemiology)
  • Only for cross-site biosample use: Biosample application form
